INTRODUCTION:

As a part of the efforts to develop and strengthen the relationship with the corporate world, ITM has delineated long-term strategy to place Under Graduate students in prestigious organizations.

List of the Companies Recruited the ITM students through Placement cell:

IBM, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Satyam Computers, Honeywell Technologies, Syntel Inc. Infosys, Accenture, Sapient, Huawei Telecom, HP, HCL Tech. etc.

The goal is to help build a long – term career with leading organizations and not just place the students.

• Gives training to the students to enhance their knowledge with the help of alumni.

• Extends guidance to the students looking for higher studies such as GATE, GRE and TOEFL and also to choose universities.

• Motivates the students by providing the necessary help and guidance for their personality development.

• Each year more than 70% students are placed through this cell. The Training and Placement cell keeps in touch with the industry by inviting them to visit the institute for campus interviews.

• Training and Placement Cell organizes sessions of aptitude test, group discussion and guidance programmes on How to face interviews for the students. Placement cell also assists students to produce quality final year project.

• The college seeks experts advice on behalf of students wishing to apply for higher education at various universities within the country and abroad.

It is an integral part of the institute. The institute has provided complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell. The various activities, which are being undertaken regularly are - placement of the students, Entrepreneurship awareness & development programmes, invited lectures of the persons from industry & other institutions, Personality development programmes etc.

A well organized placement cell is functioning in the Institution with a fulltime dedicated Placement Officer, who continuously monitors the employment potentials and arranges the campus interviews for the students. The Placement Officer maintains a consistent communication with the leading companies 'Nation wide' for placement of the students. The office keeps close liaison with various industrial establishments (both private and public sectors), which conduct campus interviews and select graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines. The Placement Cell provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions, tests and interviews. The college is actively organising in-campus and out-campus interviews for its students to get proper placement.

We are also entertaining the companies requests for the details of passed out students for employment by maintaining a Strong Database of our Students those who have completed their degree.

Job offers, dates of interviews, selection of candidates etc. are announced through their individual e-mails and the Placement Office Notice Board. The Placement Office serves to merely bridge the gap between a job -aspirant and a prospective employer. However, it helps students to plan their careers by providing information about the industries which approach the institute.

CORE TEAM MEMBERS:

The Placement Office is assisted by a committee comprising the Head of the placement cell Prof. Praveen Kumar Gupta, CSE Department, Mr. Sumit Pandey, Senior Coordinator, Mr. Pankaj and Mr. Ajit Pal, Coordinators. Also, representatives of students from the under-graduate and post-graduate engineering streams assist this committee. The placement cell also attempts to keep the students informed about potential job opportunities and guidance from time to time. As a part of Industrial Institute Interaction, students are exposed to the actual work environment of various Industries. Hands-on training is offered to the students both on the conventional as well as in advanced techniques.

SOFT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE:

A) GENERAL PROFICIENCY:

There are always some experiences in life which you cherish to remember. Some special moments on some special occasions. One engineering student would always remember the day on which he got his first job in life. The cell organizes Campus interviews for final and pre final year students Guidance to students for competitive exams like GATE, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL and CAT. Arrange Placement, Project work, Industrial training, and Industrial visits for the students Motivate the students and prepare for successful performance at interviews

Group discussions on latest topics Seminars on latest topics Personality development programs, Training programs The Training and Placement cell is headed by placement Officer who is supported by four members , in addition to student representatives from all engineering branches. The available amenities include a spacious test hall, LCD, OHP , TV , VCR , Video Projectors , a seminar hall for briefing and a conference hall for conducting interviews. It is also in charge of corresponding with various companies with a view to invite them to the college for campus recruitment.

To get more placements, the cell is arranging Training Programs right from the first year to final year with the help of reputed Pvt. Organizations. MOU has been signed between the college and Appinonline and BEC, to provide required Training in the following areas:

B) LANGUAGE SKILLS:

It includes Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading & Writing etc.

C) HR SKILLS:

Communication Skills (Barriers, Effective Communication) Presentation Skills Study Skills (Note Taking, Organizing, Data, Memory etc), Mind Maps, Memory Techniques IP Styles Role Plays, Goal Setting, Team Skills, Communication Sensitivity, Resume Preparation, Group Discussions. Many books are available in the College Library to help students to prepare for interviews and entrance examinations. The Training & Placement Cell ensures and takes care to provide the best arrangements and hospitality for the visiting companies' officials.

Students Eligible for Placements = Total No. Of Pass Outs – Students Not Meeting the Academic Eligibility Criteria – Students Opted For Higher Studies.
Academic Eligibility Criteria: 65% in 10th, 12th and Engineering. Good Communication Skills in English.
