ITM Degree Distribution Ceremony-2007 An impressive and colorful Degree Distribution Ceremony was held at ITM, a well known engineering institute in Haryana and NCR Gurgaon on 2nd April , 2008. Mr. Ajai Chowdhry , Founder HCL & CEO HCL Infosystems and a well known personality in IT industry was the Chief Guest at the function and gave away the Bachelor of Engineering degrees to passing out students in various engineering disciplines. Besides various luminaries from academic and industrial world , all the senior members of ITM governing team including the Chairman and members Governing Body , Principal , Vice Principal , Dean and senior professors were present. The function was organized to give the Bachelor of Engineering Degrees to students of CSE , ECE , IT , EI and ME streams who passed out of ITM in June,2007. Medals and certificates of merit were also presented to the outstanding students of this batch. In spite of it being a working day there was enthusiastic participation from the students , some of whom had to come from far off places where they are employed. The function started with the glittering academic procession led by the Principal Dr. Rakesh Ranjan entering the pandal accompanied by chanting of vedic mantras , which lent an air of serenity and dignity to the environment. After the lamp lighting by the chief guest and the chairman Mr. N K Dewan , blessings of goddess saraswati , the deity of knowledge , were invoked through Saraswati Vandana , beautifully rendered with deep devotion in chorus by students of ITM choir . A colorful presentation of Vande Matram was also made by the students of ITM. In his report, the Principal highlighted some of the achievements and presented the vision of the institute. He mentioned that ITM continues to maintain its position of leadership in Haryana and NCR because of the high standards of education and draws the best students every year. This is also vindicated by OUTLOOK survey which places ITM in fourth positin in whole of North India after some of the oldest and most revered institutes in the region. ITM always has maintained highest benchmarks in quality and all its courses have been reaccredited by National Board of Accreditation, the highest Govt of India body for quality benchmarking. The principal also mentioned that , ITM continues to achieve 100% campus placements with some of the leading companies like TCS , Satyam , HCL infotech , Accenture , IBM Infosys, Hewit , I-Flex , Tech-Mahindra , Wipro etc. coming for campus recruitments. Keeping in view the demands of industry , ITM has introduced several new BE courses like Automobile Engg. and Civil Engg. as well as M.Tech courses in CSE , ECE . ME and Software Engg.etc. MBA courses have also been started from this year. The future plans include BE courses in Electrical and Electronics Engg., Software Engg. and M. Tech in Robotics and Automation which are proposed to be started from July this year. The excellent infrastructure at ITM is continuously being upgraded and modernized to meet the future needs. Out lining the future plans , the Principal said that getting permanent affiliation from MDU last year was a landmark and ITM hopes to now get fully autonomous status which will allow it to design latest curriculum itself in tune with industry requirements to further enhance the placement opportunities of its students. ITM has also plans for upgradation to full university in near future. In his address , the Chief Guest , Mr.Ajai Chowdhry apprised the students about current industry and business scenario in the country and the challenges being faced by industry particularly the IT industry. He impressed upon the students to imbibe the virtues of hardwork , discipline and innovative outlook for career growth. He also advised the students to develop professional ethics , care for environment and continuously upgrade their skill sets in view of the rapid technology obsolescence. The chief guest in his concluding remarks mentioned that since most of the students would be getting assignments abroad they should work in the spirit of being India’s global ambassadors and uphold the image of the country at all times The function concluded with the presentation of mementos to the Chief Guest by the Principal and Vice Principal , vote of thanks by the Principal and singing of National Anthem. | ||||
