Prof. Rakesh Ranjan

PH.D.( POWER ELECTRONICS) BITS PILANI, BIT

Dr. Rakesh Ranjan received the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Eng.) degree from MIT Muzaffarpur, India, the ME degree in Power Systems from BIT Mesra, India and the Ph.D. degree from BITS Pilani, India.

Dr. Rakesh Ranjan has more than 16 years of teaching and research experience at Indian and foreign Universities. He was junior research fellow at BIT Mesra Ranchi for two years , has served the BITS, Pilani in EEE group as a Lecturer for five years and worked as an Assistant Professor and the HOD of the Electrical Power Technology Department at Defence University College Addis Ababa for three and half years. Dr. Rakesh Ranjan was Professor and Chairman of Research Group CSSI at Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Multimedia University Malaysia, Melaka Campus for three and half years.

He has co-authored books entitled “Signals and Systems” published by McGraw-Hill, Singapore / Tata McGraw-Hill, New Delhi, India, on “Random Process and Queuing Theory”, and “ Circuits and Signals” published by Pearson, Prentice Hall, Malaysia. His latest book “ Schaum’s Outlines on SIGNALS AND SYSTEMS is published by Tata McGraw-Hill, New Delhi, in 2005.He has also contributed 23 research papers in international journals and 41 papers at international conferences in the area of Radial distribution systems. Dr. Rakesh Ranjan is actively involved in research at international forum and served as International program committee and technical committee member for various international Conferences and Journals. Currently he is IPC member to IASTED International conference PEA 2006 at Gabrone, Botswana and EPS 2006, at Chiang Mai Thailand. He has guided two Ph.Ds, three Master thesis and several undergraduate projects. Dr. Ranjan has also completed two sponsored projects so far.

Dr. Rakesh Ranjan has also the distinction of being listed in Marquee’s “Who’s Who in the World” for Science and Technology, 2005, USA. He has also visited Dubai, Ethiopia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore for academic/research related assignments.

In July 2004, Dr. Ranjan joined Institute of Technology and Management Gurgaon, as Professor and was made Dean-Academics in February 2005. He was appointed Principal of the institute in Oct 2005.
