Prof. Dilip K. Roy Ph.D. IIT, Delhi,M.Sc. ( Radio Physics and Electronics), Patna University, Patna Prior to his appointment at the Department of Electronics and Communication
Engineering at ITM, Gurgaon. Dr. Roy was a Professor and Head of the
Department of Applied Sciences at A.P.J College of Engineering, Sohna,
Gurgaon. Prof. Roy has extensive research and teaching experience both
at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He retired as a Professor
of Physics (Semiconductor Division) of Indian Institute of Technology,
Delhi, New Delhi in 1998. He has also been Visiting Professors at the
Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research, University of Malaya
from 1996 to 2000; at the Department of Physical Sciences, Egerton
University, Kenya from1990 to1992; at the Institute of Microelectronic
Technology and High Purity Materials, Academy of Sciences, USSR in
1989 as an INSA Fellow and at the Solid State Electronic Research Section
at the A.T.& T Bell Laboratories, New Jersey, USA in 1986 as a
Rotary Foundation Fellow. He also served as a Research Associate at
the Research Institute of Electrical Communications, Tohoku University,
Sendai, Japan in 1965, on a Govt. of India Scholarship where he received
his practical training on the technology of Semiconductor Devices. Dr. D.K.Roy has also participated in several national and international conferences and submitted over 25 research papers, which were both as invited and contributed. He has also authored over 30 publications, which are published in refereed international journals. He has authored a number of textbooks and research monographs as well. Notable among them are: 9 (i) Tunnelling & Negative Resistance Phenomena in Semiconductors, Pergamon Press (Oxford, England),1977; (ii) Quantum Mechanical Tunnelling & its Applications, World Scientific Publishers,Singapore,1986;(iii) A Quantum Measurement Approach to Tunnelling, World Scientific Publishers,Singapore,1993;(iv) Physics of Semiconductor Devices, 2nd ed.. Universities Press (Distributed by Orient Longman, India Ltd), Hyderabad, 2004; (v) Principles of VLSI, Galgotia Publications, New Delhi,2004 Besides being a fellow of Rotary International USA, he is also the recepient of the University Gold Medal for securing the first position in M.Sc, and two gold medals at the B.Sc. stage for securing highest marks in Physics and Physics & Chemistry taken together .Dr. D.K.Roy has supervised over 10 doctoral theses and over 15 M.Tech. projects. | ||||
