Degree Distribution Ceremony-2007
on 2nd April , 2008

Invitations
All students of CSE , ECE , EI , IT and ME who have passed out in June 2007 are invited to attend this ceremony and receive their degrees. Letters of invitations followed by invitation cards have been posteds to all the students. In case for any reason you have not received the invitation ,you can still confirm your participation by phone or email to Ms. Jasbir ( Phone No 9971088002, Email ID : grover.jasbir@gmail.com)

Guests
You are welcome to bring your parents. Separate section has been made in the pandal for seating the guests.

Registration : All invited students are expected to arrive at ITM at 2.30 PM and are .
requested to register at the gate on arrival.

Refreshments for students and Guests : Light refreshments have been arranged for all the guests in the canteen from 2.30 PM onwards. You are invited for the same.

Issue of Gowns for the degree distribution : All students are required to wear a prescribed gown with cap for the ceremony. The gown will be issued to the students in LH-5 from 2.30 PM onwards.

The gowns will be issued upto 4.30 PM only .Students arriving thereafter will have to remain without gowns, will have to sit at the back in pandal and will not be called to the dais.

Rehearsal for the event. :
It is of absolute importance to maintain proper decorum during the degree distribution function. All students are therefore requested to strictly follow the prescribed protocol. A rehearsal will be conducted for all the students by Prof. A S Chhagar where the procedure to be followed will be explained and rehearsed. The oath taking will also be rehearsed. All students are required to participate in the rehearsal. Your cooperation is requested to maintain the dignity and sanctity of the function. Please strictly follow the directions from the faculty coordinators.

Briefly the degree award process will be as follows :

1. After wearing the gown and the cap and participation in the rehearsal , the student have to be seated in the pandal dept wise by 5.10 pm. positively. before arrival of the Chief Guest.

2. The chief guest on arrival will be introduced to all the faculty members and will then join the academic procession

3. The academic procession will reach the pandal at 5.45 pm.

4. Everybody in pandal to standup to welcome the academic procession and take their seats after the dignitaries on the dais are seated.

5. For orderly distribution , students to make a queue when asked by the faculty coordinators and proceed to the dais when their name is announced by the HOD from the dais.

6. The student to climb up the dais from steps on the side go up to the chief guest , bow to the chief guest , shake hands with the chief guest receive the degree .as well as pose for the photograph , bow to dais and climb down from the side steps on the other side and be seated.

7. All students to maintain silence during the address of the Principal and the chief guest

8. After close of the function , students to go to LH-5 to return the gowns

9. The degree certificate is the most important document for you and to ensure that it is positively received by you only , the original degree will be issued to you after the function. All students to collect their original degrees from LH-5 after return of the gowns and the filled up alumni form. The degree given to you at the dais is a dummy only.

10. All students are invited to join for dinner at or after 7.30PM . The dinner party hosted by ITM at canteen lawns will go upto 9.00 PM

Photographs

All the students will be individually photographed with the chief guest while receiving the degree , by the photographer hired by ITM. However ,if your parents or a friend wishes to take their own photograph , this may be done only from the designated place without causing any disturbance to the proceedings.

You may also arrange for your separate photographs with the photographer after or before the function.depending upon his availability. The photo graphs of the function will be uploaded on th ITM website by 8.30 PM
