Prior to his appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at ITM, Mr. Amarjit S. Chaggar served in the Indian Air Force for more than 25 years. He has over 10 years of teaching experience at Air Force Technical College, Bangalore, Institute of Armament Technology, Pune and at Defence Engineering College, Ethopia. During his tenure with the IAF, he has served as Director of a MIG 21 fleet. He has also worked as Chief Engineer of an aero engine overhaul line at an operational flying base. A recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) for his distinguished service as Chief Engineer, Mr. Amarjeet S. Chaggar has also participated in a number of professional and technical courses and seminars in India and overseas. In Aug 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Professor. He teaches Theory of Machines, Machine Design, Manufacturing Technology , Manufacturing Science and Production & Operations Management.
